September 2010 - Highly Commended by the Beacon Fellowship

Rama and Sujata Bhalla were Highly Commended in the New Initiatives Category of the 2010 Beacon Fellowship Awards, for setting up Giving World Online. The awards celebrate exceptional contributions to charitable causes or to organisations that benefit the public. The sisters were nominated for the award by the Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland Community Foundation and Leicestershire First.


May 2010 - Winners of a Level 2 Better Net award from UnLtd

Giving World Online founders Rama and Sujata Bhalla received a Level 2 Better Net Award from UnLtd in recognition of their innovative Giving World Online charity model. The website connects charities and community groups to businesses with new surplus stock.


September 2009 - Shortlisted for the Guardian Charity Awards 2009

May 2009 - Winners of the Green Life Award for Best Environmental Contribution by a not-for-profit organisation

Konnect9/Giving World Online walked away with the Best Environmental Contribution by a not-for-profit organisation at the 2009 Leicester Green Life Awards, and took second place in the overall Green Life Environment Award.


March 2009 - Founders win Women of Achievement Award and Leicestershire First Leadership Award

The Leicestershire Women of Achievement Awards 2009 were held at the Walkers Stadium where sisters Rama and Sujata Bhalla were handed the Leicestershire Woman in the Community accolade after founding charity Konnect9 in 2001.


The sisters also won the first ever Leicestershire First Leadership Award.
